LEVEL 2
CONTINUOUS TRAINING TO EDUCATORS, THERAPISTS, UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND PARENTS

In ALUNA’S modern Auditorium we continuously offer seminars and workshops on different topics of interest to the special educational needs and therapeutic disciplines.

Through seven agreements with Universities along the Caribbean Coast, the ALUNA’S interdisciplinary team trains every semester more than 30 university students every semester in Special Education, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Phonoaudiology and Social Work.

The work of the parents is a central topic at ALUNA: behavioural modification of conducts, adolescent management ing teenagers and sexuality are very important topics for family harmony. The parents become “specialists” in the knowledge of their children and we, as a team, help them in their task.

Through strategic partnerships with national and international entities, ALUNA’s interdisciplinary team has trained more than 400 “community mothers”, or community caregivers belonging to the group Madres FAMI, female heads of household, and other childcare providers in vulnerable communities, with the overall objective of maximizing care for boys and girls from birth to 7 years of age and supporting pregnant mothers within the regional department of Bolivar to promote early disability detection and risk reduction during infancy and to build the capacity of mothers in caring for their young ones.
